The DR® 3.5-Inch Chipper Attachment is an optional attachment designed for compatible DR® Field & Brush Mowers. It allows the mower’s self-propelled power unit to be used for chipping branches up to 3-1/2 inches in diameter.

The attachment replaces the mower’s brush deck and uses the power unit’s engine to drive an 18-pound flywheel. A single chipping knife provides the cutting action, allowing the chipper to process branches while remaining mobile on the Field & Brush Mower’s self-propelled base.

3.5-Inch Chipping Capacity

The Chipper Attachment is designed to process branches up to 3-1/2 inches thick. It uses the power generated by the compatible DR® Field & Brush Mower power unit to operate the chipping mechanism.

The attachment is mounted to the mower’s self-propelled power base, allowing the chipper to be moved to different areas where brush and branches need to be processed.

18-Pound Chipper Flywheel

An 18-pound flywheel provides the rotating mass used during the chipping process. Once the mower’s engine is running, the flywheel is engaged using a lever located on the Field & Brush Mower’s control panel.

The flywheel’s stored rotational energy is designed to provide consistent operation while chipping branches.

Single Chipping Knife

The chipper uses a single chipping knife. According to the manufacturer, the knife can make up to 40 cuts per second during operation.

Tool-Free Deck Conversion

The Chipper Attachment replaces the Field & Brush Mower’s brush deck. The existing deck slides off and the chipper slides onto the power unit without tools.

According to the manufacturer, the conversion can be completed in just a few minutes.

Self-Propelled Mobility

Because the chipper is mounted to the Field & Brush Mower’s self-propelled power base, the complete setup can be driven to the area where chipping is required. This allows the attachment to be used without having to transport brush piles to a stationary chipper.
