Twin-Cylinder Power and Power Steering

The PRO XL30 combines a 20 HP Briggs & Stratton® Professional Series OHV twin-cylinder engine with a 30-inch mowing deck. The engine has 650 cc of displacement, two cast-iron cylinder sleeves, a full-pressure oil pump, a spin-on oil filter, and electric starting.

Power Steering is provided through independent disc brakes on each wheel. Each brake is operated by a hand lever, allowing the operator to slow or stop one wheel and pivot the mower around it for easier turning and maneuvering.

30-Inch Pivoting Mowing Deck

The 30-inch deck provides a wide cutting path for clearing field grass and brush while maintaining maneuverability. The deck pivots from side to side to follow the contours of uneven ground, helping reduce scalping and maintain traction over rough terrain.

According to the manufacturer, the 30-inch brush deck can reduce mowing time by up to 15% compared with the PRO 26 model.

Field and Brush Cutting Capability

The PRO XL30 is designed for cutting extra-tall and dense vegetation, including field grass and saplings up to 3 inches in diameter. The three-sided enclosed deck allows cut material to be chopped and re-chopped beneath the deck, producing a finer mulch and reducing the amount of material left in the field.

Gear-Driven Transmission

The geared transmission provides three forward speeds and one reverse speed. Unlike a hydrostatic drive, the gear-driven system allows a selected ground speed to remain fixed while the operator concentrates on steering and maneuvering.

Large Lugged Tires

The PRO XL30 uses 18″ x 6.5″ x 8″ tires with lugged tread for traction across rough terrain. The tires are sealant-filled for increased resistance to punctures.

Full-Pressure Oil Pump

The Briggs & Stratton® Professional Series engine includes a full-pressure oil pump designed to provide positive lubrication, including when the mower is operating on side slopes.

The mower frame uses heavy-duty laser-cut steel, with reinforcement at key stress points. The frame and deck are finished with a durable powder coating designed to resist scratching.

Custom-Made Blade Spindle

The blade spindle is constructed from 1.375-inch-thick cast iron and uses oversized, double-sealed bearings. It is integrated into the deck housing and reinforced to support the mowing system during operation.

Commercial-Grade Electric Clutch

The PRO XL30 features a self-adjusting electric clutch designed for access and quick changes when using optional attachments. The manufacturer reports that the clutch underwent 245 hours of testing with 10% of its service life used during that testing.

Optional PTO Attachments
