The DR® FB26E is a battery-electric field and brush mower designed for rough-area mowing without a gasoline engine. It uses a removable 2.5 kWh, 48V lithium-ion battery and a 7.3 kW brushless motor to cut field grass up to 4 feet tall and saplings up to 2 inches in diameter.

The FB26E uses a gear-driven transmission and a 26-inch pivoting deck. Its battery system provides up to 1.5 hours of runtime per charge, depending on operating conditions. Battery and charger are sold separately.

Battery-Electric Power

The FB26E is powered by DR’s E-Series battery platform, using a 2.5 kWh, 48V lithium-ion battery pack. The removable battery is housed beneath an accessible hood with a magnetic closure and integrated grip handles.

According to the manufacturer, the battery can be recharged in approximately 2.5 hours using a household electrical outlet and provides up to 1.5 hours of runtime per charge, depending on conditions.

7.3 kW Brushless Motor

A 48V brushless motor provides the power for the FB26E’s mowing system. The electric drivetrain eliminates the need for a gasoline engine while retaining the gear-driven transmission used on the manufacturer’s gas-powered field and brush mower models.

DR E-Series Battery Platform

The 2.5 kWh DR® E-Series lithium-ion battery is designed as a shared battery platform. The manufacturer states that the battery is compatible with the DR ZT5E Zero-Turn Mower and future products.

The battery includes an external charge and error indicator. A spare battery caddy is also available for transporting an additional battery to the jobsite. With two batteries, the manufacturer states that work sessions can extend to up to 3 hours. The battery should be removed for mowing when using the spare battery caddy.

26-Inch Pivoting Deck

The 26-inch mowing deck provides a balance of clearing width and maneuverability. The deck pivots from side to side to follow the contours of rough terrain, helping minimize scalping and improve traction.

The FB26E is designed to handle field grass up to 4 feet tall and saplings up to 2 inches in diameter.

Power Steering

Power Steering is provided through independent disc brakes on each wheel. Each wheel has its own hand-operated brake. Applying the brake on one side allows the mower to pivot around that wheel for easier turning and maneuvering.

Gear-Driven Transmission

The FB26E uses a gear-driven transmission that allows the operator to select and maintain a fixed ground speed. The transmission provides three forward gears, allowing the operator to select an appropriate pace for the mowing conditions.

Large Lugged Tires

The mower uses 18″ x 6.5″ x 8″ sealant-filled tires with lugged tread. The tire design is intended to provide traction while the sealant filling increases resistance to punctures.

Custom-Made Blade Spindle

The blade spindle is constructed from 1.375-inch-thick cast iron and uses oversized, double-sealed bearings. It is integrated into the deck housing and reinforced for operation under demanding mowing conditions.

Adjustable Handlebars and Ergonomic Controls

Adjustable handlebars allow the operator to set a comfortable working height. Controls are positioned on the control panel and grips for convenient access during operation and to help minimize hand fatigue.

Battery Housing

The battery hood uses a magnetic closure and handle latches, allowing tool-free access to the battery compartment.
